Liverpool Tennis Case Study

Dreamscape Solutions act as a sponsor for the Liverpool International Tennis tournament. As part of our sponsorship, we were asked to design a website to promote the event with the intention of raising the profile of the tournament, helping them to achieve more media coverage and allowing tennis fans who could not attend to follow the highlights of play on a day-to-day basis during the event.

We delivered a content managed site which allows Liverpool Tennis to provide news and information about the tournament as well as promote corporate sponsorships, hospitality packages and information about ticketing. The next stage of development for the 2008 event is to add on an online booking system which will allow Liverpool Tennis to sell tickets directly through their website, without having to use a third party provider, which will reduce the cost of ticketing for both Liverpool Tennis and for fans attending the tournament.

The result of having the website meant a huge increase in media coverage for Liverpool Tennis and its sponsors to a value of £1.5. Tournament director Andreas Borg is quoted on their website as saying,

"The huge increase is due to extensive media coverage through all mediums which peaked during Bjorn Borg's appearance on centre court. Our website www.liverpooltennis.co.uk received more than 60,000 unique visitors and over half a million pages were served."

Dreamscape Solutions’ Director Bernard McCabe sums up the result by explaining,

"New media is all about a return on investment and we have generated great exposure for the Liverpool International with regards to supporters, sponsors and the city itself though the web site, which is constantly evolving."
