What do you enjoy most about working in design?
I love the constant evolution of design, its fascinating how quickly design trends change and understanding what the driving factors behind those changes are. It means you never stop learning and evolving yourself, whether it is from getting to grips with new software or keeping up with the latest trends, I love it all. Plus I get to play with my absolutely gorgeous new MacBook (sorry Danielle!) ;)
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
Coming from a background primarily in the gaming industry, I am looking forward to the challenge of working in varied sectors and industries, Dreamscape offers me the chance to work across the full spectrum of business.
What is the biggest project you have worked on?
My first Dreamscape project is by far the most complex website I’ve ever worked on! The complete redesign of the NGA’s website is a massive undertaking and being tasked to take this on from my very first day was quite a challenge, talk about being thrown in at the deep-end!
What are the challenges you face on a day-to-day basis?
As a designer, delivering exceptional work which the client loves is the main daily challenge, of course, there are a million things that contribute towards achieving that goal - that’s where the fun begins :D
How do you relax after a hard day of work?
After work, I usually like to spend a couple of hours pulling smushed in play-doh out of the carpet, stand barefoot onto various blocks of lego and watch wall-to-wall episodes of Peppa Pig before sending the kids to bed! Then I love to wind down by cooking a good meal then settling down with Netflix in-front of the log burner, especially on these cold winter nights.
What are some small things that make your day better?
I don’t like being bored, so keeping busy is a must, but I'm happy if there’s a big mug of coffee to start the day, some sunshine, a couple of good podcasts and a big to-do list that's been checked off by the end of it.
